About This

When I come home, often the first question is “How was your day? What did you do today?” On any given day, I could make a list like the following:

helped with a need
visited and drank tea
encouraged someone in the midst of problems
read and studied the bible
discussed ways of solving a problem
prayed
wrote some important emails
mentored and planned with co-workers

These are all things that I do. Someone else might have another list. These are the WHAT of my day. However, I am interested in the WHY? Why do I help practically? Why do I discuss the bible? Why do I encourage? Why do I involve churches? …Why do I do what I do?

To understand the “Why?” requires reflection and critique of myself. A long time ago, Calvin said that the knowledge of the self is the beginning of the knowledge of God. So to understand the why is like nearing the throne of God. It is an upward climb that hopefully will make me more like Christ.

For Me

I am looking to improve how I as a Christian interact with refugees from all different cultures and backgrounds. I have incorporated many of these actions into the categories, and I hope that as I write and reflect these categories will grow over time. I want to understand what the issues are in these categories. I want to discuss how I can best act and intervene in the lives of refugees and I want to collaborate with others about it all. This is my workshop for connecting …people with people …faith and life …theology to practice.

For You

This is a place to add your comments and ideas. It is a way for you to influence and shape me as well as yourself through both your comments and prayers. What I post comes from my own experience, but also from what others have shared with me. So, I need your input. This is a forum for me, but it is also for you.

This is a way to collaborate with others who want to understand their life as believers and the journey that this leads us all into.
